Here's what they said about Mr. Rigg:

CTE Teacher Spotlight: Kent Rigg, Williamsfield CUSD 210

Mr. Kent Rigg isn’t just Williamsfield’s Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor; he’s the driving force behind one of the most vibrant and impactful programs in rural Illinois. Through his leadership, Williamsfield students experience agricultural education as more than coursework; it’s community, opportunity, and a launchpad for their futures.

One of his hallmark contributions is the annual Ag Day Festival, Williamsfield FFA’s largest community service event. Each year, more than 150 volunteers including FFA alumni, 4-H families, and local supporters come together to provide over 20 free activities that celebrate agriculture. From corn mazes to simulators to farm attractions, Mr. Rigg ensures that this event grows bigger and better each year, connecting the school to the wider community in meaningful ways.

Mr. Rigg’s influence is just as evident on the statewide stage. Under his guidance, Williamsfield FFA enjoyed record-breaking success at this year's Illinois FFA State Convention, including five state wins, four Honorary State Degrees, three State Degrees, and a new Section President. His students don’t just compete; they lead. Alumna Sidney Stiers, who served as the Illinois FFA State Reporter, became the first state officer from Williamsfield in 60 years. Her retiring address was delivered to a record crowd of 7,000 and even featured in a national agricultural industry report with more than 45,000 subscribers.

Behind every award, every speech, and every opportunity is Mr. Rigg’s dedication to his students. He invests countless hours connecting them with leadership opportunities, preparing them for competition, and ensuring they have the support they need to thrive. Whether it’s through community events, statewide recognition, or everyday classroom teaching, his work exemplifies the best of Career & Technical Education.
