BACK-TO-SCHOOL ALL CALL (Thursday, August 20)

Many people are wondering when a student should come to school and when they should remain home with regards to symptoms or exposure to COVID-19. We created a COVID-19 Resources tab above and a quick link to the left to outline our guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

To summarize, anyone who has symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should stay home from school and engage in remote learning. Anyone with an active case of COVID-19 should stay home and engage in remote learning. Anyone who has had close contact with someone who tested positive should stay home and engage in remote learning. The IDPH guidance outlines the amount of time an individual is required to remain in quarantine or isolation, as well as the documentation we will require for them to come back to school.

We are heading back to school at a time when weekly COVID-19 cases in Knox County are at an all time high. As school begins next week, please be sure to symptom screen your kids daily. Please be sure to keep them home if they are sick. And please be sure to let us know if someone in your home is symptomatic, tested positive, or has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19. We can get through this, but our only way through it is together.

Again, please don’t hesitate to contact our helpline This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any questions or concerns. Additional announcements will be made at 7pm each night this week. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
