BACK-TO-SCHOOL ALL CALL (Wednesday, August 19)

To help prepare for the start of school, ALL CALL announcements will go out at 7pm each day this week. These announcements will be accompanied by a daily email, Facebook post, and update to our district website. If a family you know is not receiving these calls, please have them contact Wendy at 309.639.2216 so we can add them to the system.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. at any time. We will work to get back with you as soon as possible. This helpline will remain active throughout the year. We encourage all parents and students to reach out if there is ever anything we can do to help.

And now for tonight’s announcements.

1. Chromebooks. Each student, PK-12, will be issued a Chromebook this fall. Students in grades 6-12 will continue using the device they were issued last year. Some of our elementary students were issued a Chromebook last spring as well. They will also continue using the same device. Everyone else will be issued a Chromebook next week. If you are a parent of one of our younger students, please communicate with your child’s teacher on expectations regarding transporting and caring for the device.
2. If you do not have WIFI in your home, or if your child’s daycare provider does not have WIFI in their home, please contact Pam at 309.639.2219 so we can work on a solution to this problem together.
3. All of your child’s courses should be visible in Canvas. Simply login using the Canvas button on our website. A brief Canvas tutorial recorded by Mrs. Yelm can be viewed HERE. Your child’s Canvas dashboard will be your go to page for course information throughout the year.
4. Many people are wondering when remote learners will login to their LIVE CLASSES. Students in grades PK-4 will follow guidance from their teachers. For students in grades 5-12, all students are to LOGIN LIVE at the beginning of each class Monday 8/24 & Tuesday 8/25. After Tuesday, login expectations for the typical 5 day week are as follows.
   • Day 1 & 2 - Typically Monday & Tuesday; A GROUP LOGIN to LIVE CLASSES
   • Day 3 - Typically Wednesday; NO LIVE CLASS LOGIN
   • Day 4 & 5 - Typically Thursday & Friday; B GROUP LOGIN to LIVE CLASSES

In addition, all students LOGIN LIVE for any LAB days designated by their teacher. These are the minimum expectations. ALL STUDENTS are welcome to LOGIN to LIVE CLASSES more than expected.
