**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**

March 23, 2020 (4:24pm)

While we do not want to alarm anyone, one of our Emergency Food Kit volunteers is experiencing low-grade fever, body aches, headache, and a scratchy throat. Through various screenings, the medical community has determined the individual to be at low risk for COVID-19. Even though they are low risk, we are working with health care professionals to have them tested. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough COVID-19 test kits to go around. Since they are low risk, they do not qualify for testing. Even if they qualified, we were told test results would be available in 10 days at best. So, they are being tested for both influenza A & B. The individual will remain under self-quarantine for the next 14 days, unless their flu test comes back positive. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, our Emergency Food Kit Program is suspended until further notice. For those who have registered, the United Methodist Church will have food to distribute tonight at pick-up locations in Dahinda, Happy Hollow, & Williamsfield. As for next week, rest assured, if you registered for the Food Kit Program, we will provide 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals for your kids next week. Details regarding next week’s meals will be shared as soon as they become available. We are all in this together.
