Scholarships The National Honor Society™ has been awarding scholarships since 1946. Over $10 million dollars have been awarded to outstanding students throughout this time period. Students are chosen for scholarships according to the same criteria as they are chosen for NHS itself (Charactor, Leadership, etc.) For the 2003-04 school year, 200 sholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded. Each affiliated NHS chapter may nominate two seniors to compete for this scholarship. Both will be rewarded with a certificate of merit, but only one may receive the scholarship. An online scholarship application may be found on the NHS website in their Adviser Zone. Information provided by and about nominees on their nomination forms should clearly demonstrate their superlative qualities. -The National Honor Society and NHS are trademarks of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
