Obligations

Each local chapter is expected to outline its own set of membership obligations. In addition to maintaining the original guidelines for an NHS member, the Williamsfield chapter also requires its members to complete a minimum of 10 service hours annually. Five of these hours must be community service hours, and five have to be school service hours.

The deadline for completing these hours will be the date of the Honors Banquet in early May. If seniors fail to complete their hours by that date, they will remain on the NHS roster, but will not receive their honor cords and will not be recognized as NHS members at graduation. For juniors, the amount of remaining service hours will roll-over into the next school year.
